Alternatives To Clean A Cloudy Mirror

In this post I will make an attempt to solve a problem that bothers thousands of home owners around the world, that is, the issue of cloudy mirrors.

If you own a full length mirror and is now worn out and cloudy one thing I can say is that you are together with millions of others across the globe. I have been there; I can bet that you neighbour has owned one too. I tried everything I could to clean it until I got rid of it only to discover the best cleaning methods months after I had gotten rid of it.

So what do you do if you are not planning keep it? Is there really a way to clean it? As a decorative mirrors for bathrooms specialist I know a few tricks on how you can do this effectively. These suggestions can apply to all kinds including large, oversized, compact, framed, unframed including wrought iron full length wall mirror.

One of the easiest ways is to clean it with water. Warm or hot water would do the job just fine. Make sure the water is plain or else it might not work. I know that this can work well especially for plexy glass.

Vinegar and a newspaper can work well too. If it was once cleaned with some oily or greasy stuff then this could work quite well.

You can try to use some spray cleaners like windex. Spray cleaners work well generally well for some decorative bathroom mirrors and not for others. So you should not despair if that particular spray does not work on your mirror.

If all these tips fail then it probably means there are other reasons why it does not respond. Maybe the problem is with the silver on the back of the mirror i.e it could be peeling off. You can get it re-silvered but I would recommend you let go of it and find a new one – unless of course it has some sentimental value attached to it.
